Incometer Precision Measurement PAT Incometer Systems
Incometers (Inner Contour Meters) are the quickest, most accurate way to determine the roundness and cylindricity of bores. They take an immense number of measurement points from inside the bore, and then quickly produce readings within ± one micron. Because Incometers are computer-controlled, it is possible to perform detailed analyses of these measurements. The system operates with Windows software, and is compatible with the latest computer hardware. Incometers can perform radial, axial or 3D measurements. “Hole masking” is another option used to measure two-stroke engines, in which ports are omitted from the analysis. Collected data runs through a series of calculations for roundness, cylindricity, straightness and parallelism. Outputs are presented in numerical and graphical format. The results can be transmitted to any SPC data collector, EXCEL or other program for long-term data analysis. Plots are easy to understand and clearly display the bore’s actual condition. All Incometers are highly portable. The entire system consists of a precise measuring unit, an electronic control unit and a computer system. There is a standard Incometer model for bore diameters ranging from 39 mm to 200 mm, for axial depths of up to 200 mm. Applications Incometer systems are ideal for engine manufacturers at all stages … initial design and testing, production quality control, and field testing of wear and distortion, even in hot engines up to 200° F. Other applications include inspection of hydraulic cylinders, sleeves and seals, bearing seats, axle housings on machine tools, aerospace components, robots, and military equipment. |
